In-person PTE Academic coaching in South Auckland since 2019
We help migrants, students, and working professionals who need a PTE Academic score for a New Zealand visa, university entry, or professional registration. Whether you are aiming for the residence threshold or a higher score for a registration body, we coach you toward the exact result you need.
We start with a free assessment so we understand your current level, then set an honest target and a realistic timeline. Classes stay small, so a tutor knows you and your weak spots, and you practise on full-length mock tests with personalised feedback before you sit the real thing.
What is the PTE Academic test?
PTE Academic is a computer-based English test of about two hours, in three parts (Speaking & Writing, Reading, Listening), that assesses all four skills with integrated tasks. It is scored from 10 to 90 and marked by AI, with results usually within 48 hours. Immigration New Zealand accepts it as evidence of English, and it is widely accepted by New Zealand universities.
Computer-based, sat at an approved Pearson test centre. About two hours.
Speaking, writing, reading and listening, tested through integrated tasks.
10 to 90 on the Global Scale of English, AI-scored with no live examiner.
Usually within 48 hours. The score report is valid for two years.
What our PTE coaching covers
Every session works all four skills, on a real exam-style setup, paced to where you are right now.
All four skills, every session
Speaking fluency drills, writing templates for Summarise Written Text and Write Essay, and timing strategies for Reading and Listening. We work the tasks PTE actually scores, not generic English practice.
Full-length mock tests
You sit computer-based mocks under real exam conditions, then get personalised, trait-level feedback so you know exactly which areas to drill before test day. No surprises when you walk into the real test.
Coaching paced to your level
We start with a free assessment, set an honest target, and keep classes small so a tutor knows your name and your weak spots. We coach you to the score you need, then help you book when you are ready.

How long does PTE preparation take?
It is paced to your starting level and your target. Some learners reach their target in a few weeks; others take longer to build the foundation and fluency they need. We assess your level first, then recommend a course, and we never sell you a fixed timeline that does not fit where you are.

PTE or IELTS: which test should you take?
Both PTE Academic and IELTS are accepted by Immigration New Zealand, and neither is officially easier. The right choice usually comes down to how you prefer to be tested.
PTE may suit you if
- You want a fully computer-based test from start to finish.
- You prefer AI scoring with no live interviewer in the room.
- You need the fastest results, usually within 48 hours.
- You are comfortable typing and speaking into a microphone.
IELTS may suit you if
- You prefer a face-to-face speaking interview with a human examiner.
- You want the option of paper delivery while it is still available.
- Your university or registration body refers to IELTS bands.
- You would value the One Skill Retake on computer-delivered IELTS.

PTE for a New Zealand visa
Across the skilled residence pathways, the principal applicant threshold is PTE 58 overall (equivalent to IELTS 6.5). English is a pass or fail requirement, so once you meet the minimum you have met it; a higher score earns no extra visa points. Lower thresholds apply elsewhere, for example PTE 29 for the Accredited Employer Work Visa at the affected skill levels.
Requirements change, and exemptions and role details vary, so always confirm the current rule for your situation with Immigration New Zealand and, where it helps, a licensed immigration adviser. For the full breakdown of scores by visa, see our PTE for a NZ visa page.
