Online PTE and IELTS Coaching, One to One
Not a recorded course and not a room of thirty students. You get a tutor to yourself, live on video, at times you choose. Tell us when you are free, we match you with an available tutor, and you start. Anywhere in New Zealand.
What makes this different
- One to one, never a group
- You choose the times that suit you
- Two full hours in every session
- Mock tests and the real-test simulator included
- The same tutors who teach at our centres
Coaching that fits around your work, not the other way round
Most people who need a PTE or IELTS score are already busy. You are working, or on shift, or looking after family, and the classes you can find run at the one time of day you cannot make. If you live outside Auckland, there may be nothing near you at all.
Online one-to-one coaching removes both problems. You tell us the times you can actually study, we match you with a tutor who is free then, and the two of you meet live on video. If you need to move fast, and there is availability, you can do two sessions in a single day.
We have been coaching PTE and IELTS since 2019, from centres in Manukau and Papakura and now Hamilton. Online students work with the same tutors and the same material.
What a one-to-one session actually is
A two-hour live video session with one tutor and one student. Because nobody else is in the room, every minute is spent on your weak spots rather than on a lesson plan built for an average of thirty people. You speak for the whole session instead of waiting your turn, which matters more than anything else for the speaking modules of both tests.
Live video with a tutor, two hours per session. Not recorded lessons and not self-paced worksheets.
You give us the times you can study. We match you to a tutor who is available then and confirm the session.
One session a week or two in a day, subject to tutor availability. The test date decides, not our timetable.
PTE Academic, IELTS Academic and IELTS General, at the same price. We help you choose if you are unsure.
From first call to test day
Four steps, and the first one costs nothing.
Free assessment
A short session with a senior tutor to check where your English is now, and to tell you honestly what score is realistic and how long it should take.
Tell us your times
Evenings, early mornings, weekends, whatever fits your week. We look for a tutor who is free when you are, then confirm the match with you.
Your sessions begin
Two hours, live, one to one. Your tutor works the tasks the test actually scores and gives you feedback in the session rather than a week later.
Mock tests, then you sit
Full-length mock tests on the real-test simulator, under exam conditions, so you book the real test once your scores show you are ready.
Online one-to-one prices
The same price whether you are preparing for PTE Academic, IELTS Academic or IELTS General. Every session is two hours with a tutor to yourself.
10 Sessions Online
Ten two-hour sessions with a tutor to yourself, at times you choose. Suits a focused push toward a specific score.
20 Sessions Online
Twenty two-hour sessions for building from a lower starting point, or for working every skill in depth before you sit.
Online sessions are booked rather than paid for up front, because a session only exists once we have matched your times to an available tutor. Start with the free assessment and we will confirm the schedule before you pay anything. The 10% code in the banner above applies at online checkout for our centre-based courses, so it does not apply to these one-to-one sessions. Prefer to learn in person? See our PTE courses and IELTS courses at the Manukau and Papakura centres.
Online or in person?
Both work. They suit different people, and we would rather you picked the right one than the nearest one.
Online may suit you if
- You are too far from Manukau, Papakura or Hamilton to travel regularly
- Your shifts or hours change, so a fixed class time will not work
- You want all of a tutor's attention rather than a share of it
- You are on a deadline and want to double up sessions when you can
- One or two skills are holding your score down and you want to drill only those
In person may suit you if
- You are close to Manukau, Papakura or Hamilton and can get to a centre easily
- You concentrate better away from home, in a room set up for study
- You want to practise speaking with other learners as well as a tutor
- You would rather sit your mock tests on our computers, on site
- A group class at a lower price per session suits your budget better
Not sure which way to go? Book the free assessment and ask. We will tell you if in person would serve you better.
Mock tests are included, not an extra
Online students get the same full-length mock tests and the same real-test simulator as students at our centres. This is the part cheap online courses usually leave out, and it is the part that tells you whether you are ready.
Sitting a mock under exam conditions does two things a practice worksheet cannot. It shows you how your score holds up across two hours of concentration, and it produces the trait-level detail that says which specific thing to fix next: not "improve speaking", but which part of speaking is costing you marks.
A note on the test itself
We coach you for the test, we do not run it. The official PTE Academic is booked and sat at an approved Pearson test centre, and IELTS is booked through an approved IELTS test centre. Wherever you sit it, we make sure you walk in ready. For a New Zealand visa, English is a threshold requirement: you either meet the score or you do not, and scoring higher than the threshold earns you no extra points.
Not sure which test to sit? Read PTE vs IELTS for a New Zealand visa, or check the score you actually need on our PTE for NZ visa and IELTS for NZ visa pages.
