For NZ Employers & Business Owners

Keep your migrant workforce working. English, compliance, and visa renewals in one place.

Your AEWV staff need a visa renewal. The English language threshold is the blocker. We coach your team to the required score and our licensed immigration advisers handle the paperwork — accreditation, worker visas, and Work to Residence transitions — end to end.

The problem you're solving

You've built a team. You've invested in training, shift rosters, and relationships with clients. Now a block of AEWV renewals is coming up, and the English language requirement is where the wheels risk coming off.

Important: Under the current 6-point Skilled Migrant Category (October 2023 onwards), higher English scores do not earn additional points. English is a pass/fail threshold across every residence pathway above. We coach your staff to the correct threshold — not higher — so they're out of the classroom and back on shift as fast as possible.

How we work with employers

01

Free employer consultation

We map your workforce: ANZSCO levels, visa expiries, and English thresholds per role. ProVisas advisers confirm your accreditation status alongside. You leave with a timeline and a quote.

02

Staff assessment

Each worker sits a 15-minute mock to benchmark their starting band. We flag who needs coaching, who already meets the threshold, and who qualifies for an exemption (passport country, schooling, or tertiary route).

03

Coaching cohort

Group programme runs on your schedule — our centres or on-site. Weekly progress updates to HR. Mock tests under real conditions before any worker books the actual PTE or IELTS sitting.

04

Score in. Paperwork out.

Scores come back in 48 hours (PTE) or 13 days (IELTS). ProVisas lodges the AEWV, Work to Residence, or Straight to Residence application the same week. One invoice covers the lot.

Why pair English with the visa side

Most employers we work with have tried the split approach — English coaching with one provider, visas with another. Handovers fail. Staff complete coaching weeks before the adviser is ready to lodge; or the adviser lodges before English is confirmed and ends up in a PPI (Potentially Prejudicial Information) letter.

Target Language Academy and ProVisas share a roof. When your worker sits their test, the visa adviser knows within 48 hours. When the adviser flags a missing document, we know during the next session. No handovers, no timing slips, no duplicated fees.

Employer FAQs

Do my migrant staff need to sit IELTS or PTE to renew their AEWV?
Only at ANZSCO skill levels 4 and 5, where the threshold is IELTS 4.0 overall or PTE 29. Skill levels 1–3 typically have no formal English test requirement. If the role sits on the National Occupation List (NOL) exempt list, the requirement is waived. We confirm per-role in the free consultation.
Can you coach multiple staff at once?
Yes — dedicated group programmes, priced per cohort. Typical sizes 6–30 learners. Mixed-level cohorts are fine: we assess each learner individually and pace the session to the slowest group member on each trait, not the whole class.
Do you offer coaching on-site at our workplace?
Yes, for Auckland-region employers. We bring mock-test laptops, materials, and scoring infrastructure. Classrooms in Manukau (639 Great South Road) and Papakura (Unit 5, 46–50 Broadway) remain available if that suits your team better.
How does this connect to visa paperwork?
Target Language Academy is part of the ProVisas group. Once staff hit the English threshold, ProVisas' licensed immigration advisers handle AEWV renewals, Work to Residence, Straight to Residence, Care Workforce, or Transport Sector Residence — one engagement, one point of contact for HR.
Typical timeline to reach the required English score?
From basic conversational English to IELTS 4.0 / PTE 29: 4–8 weeks. From limited exposure: 3–6 months. For residence-level IELTS 6.5 / PTE 58, add roughly 4–8 weeks on top of threshold coaching. We run a free assessment of each worker first so you can plan lead time against visa expiry.
Do you handle employer accreditation renewal too?
Yes, ProVisas handles standard, high-volume, and triangular accreditation renewals alongside worker visa support. We coordinate so accreditation, worker English, and visa applications all move as one package.
What happens if a worker doesn't reach the threshold in time?
We flag the risk early. The ProVisas team can then pursue alternatives — bridging visas, extensions, exemption arguments where evidence supports one, or restructuring the role to an exempt ANZSCO level. We coach and advise from the same team, so the alternative is already on the table before your deadline.
Is there a bulk discount for larger cohorts?
Yes. Group pricing reflects the cohort size and the lead time you give us. The free consultation includes a written quote — no pressure, no auto-enrolment.
